Clouds for Qatar World Cup?

From Emma Thompson:

As if soccer fans weren't already impressed enough with Qatar's lavish and outlandish plans for the 2022 World Cup, they've really outdone themselves this time with an invention that tops all the fancy designs and contemporary architectural stadiums. Man-made clouds. Qatari scientists led by Dr Saul Abdul Ghani, Head of the Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Department at QU, actually invented clouds out of a very light-weight carbon-based material containing helium that will help with the incredibly hot summers Doha experiences.

"The "cloud" would also feature solar panels on its upper surface to power engines that allow the cloud to be moved via remote control," read the article published on March 27 from Gizmag.

This $500,000 system isn't a complete done deal for the World Cup, but time and money has been invested in inventing the technology and there are still 11 years to finalize and further enhance the "clouds."
