New - Newsy (update - add link)

Newsy is a small outfit that is partnering with the School of Journalism at the University of Missouri, creating 2-minute video news clips for distribution through a range of mobile apps and devices.  Newsy curates/aggregates content, pulling stories and video from multiple sources and wrapping it up in its own talking head shot.  The start-ups business model is a mix of advertising and content syndication, supplemented by an initial round of investment funding, and cheap labor from the J-School across the street.
Newsy recently was awarded an Appy Award for best news app from MediaPost.
