Cool: Ghosts of WWII (Images)

UK's Daily Mail has a fascinating piece on the work of a Dutch historian who -after finding a collection of WWII negatives in a flea market - matched "atmospheric" photos from WWII with new photos of the same locations, and combined them.

(Historian Jo Teeuwisse) believes that making war scenes familiar by linking them to somewhere we recognise heightens their impact.
'I knew what happened there, but knowing the exact spot of some detail will etch it into your visual memory,' she said.

Be sure to check them out.
