Infographic - Social Network Overload

Harris Interactive and My Life have released their State of Social Media study.  A look at the infographic confirms the rapid diffusion and growing reliance on social media, but also some unexpected results.  (And apparently some interesting and unusual survey questions)

One of those interesting results is that, for adults who are currently members of multiple social networking sites, 62% indicated that "Fear of Missing Out" was an important driver of social media use.
According to My Life CEO Jeff Tinsley,
“... consumers are bombarded with so much information online... (that) anxiety around missing out has shifted to digital lives (reliance on social networks)... many people would rather run a marathon or spend a night in jail than give up their Facebook or Twitter account...”
Also, Pinterest narrowly edged out Facebook as the site the sample reported they were most likely to go to first when looking to both consume and share content.
